This year´s John Henry Newman lecture will be delivered by Professor Stephen Bullivant from St. Mary´s University in Twickenham, England and Dr. Thomas Karlsohn from Uppsala University.

Programme:

15:00: Prof. Stephen Bullivant will speak on ‘Newman on the New Evangelization: A Lesson for the Disappointed?’

16:00 Coffee Break

16:30: Thomas Karlsohn will speak on ‘The Idea of the University and the Process of Secularization. On Humboldt, Newman and their Legacy’

Stephen Bullivant is a renowned scholar whose research and teaching interests are wide-ranging and interdisciplinary, including areas of Catholic theology, and the social-scientific study of religion and atheism/secularity.
