Since its founding in 2001, the Newman Institute has grown its academic offerings, being granted the right to award bachelor’s degrees in theology and philosophy in 2010, and master’s degrees in theology in 2021.
And we are proud of our journey. Since the beginning, the number of accredited degree programmes has grown, and more students are now applying to our programmes and individual courses in philosophy, theology, cultural and social studies. As an independent higher education institution, The Newman Institute receives government funding that partly covers the university’s annual costs. However, this journey, with more programmes, students, and staff, would not have been possible without the generous support we received through financial contributions such as gifts, bequests, and donations.
