Barbara Crostini presented her volume entitled From Prophet to Miracle-Working Saint: Dynamic Approaches to Elijah in Late Ancient and Medieval Cultures, that she co-edited with Vlad Bedros (Bucharest), Andrei Dumitrescu (Stanford) and Chana Shacham-Rossby (Tel Aviv), in Rome last Thursday. The presentation was made with contributions by Professor Luigi D’Amelia (Bologna) and Dr Lorenzo Riccardi (Rome) who suggested new paths of research in the fields of hymns on Elijah and art-historical testimonies from Southern Italy respectively. The venue for the event was the Medieval Historical Institute in Rome, framed within presentations of current research in the annual meeting of the Italian Society for the study of saints, hagiography and cults (AISSCA).
