The Higher Seminar in Theology and Philosophy will have its next meeting on Thursday, December 12th, at 15.00–17.00 in the “Hopkins room” at the Newman Institute, Uppsala. It is also possible to attend via Zoom.
The so-called conatus doctrine—the view that all finite things strive to persevere in their being—is a cornerstone of Spinoza’s philosophy. It forms the basis of his account of human psychology, ethics, and political philosophy.
Josefine Klingspor is Mellon Postdoctoral Fellow at the Department of Philosophy, Stanford University.
